Safeguarding
A Foundation of Trust, Safety, and Respect
At Rise & Shine, safeguarding is at the heart of everything we do. We are deeply committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and respectful environment for every young person and vulnerable adult in our care. Their wellbeing is our top priority, not just during our pilgrimages and Friendship Weeks, but throughout all our activities and interactions.
Safeguarding is not simply a policy for us; it is a core pillar of our charity. Every volunteer, from group carers to medical professionals, receives training and guidance on best practices in child and vulnerable adult protection. We follow the highest standards, working in line with national safeguarding legislation and guidelines, including those set out by Tusla and the National Board for Safeguarding Children in the Catholic Church in Ireland (NBSCCCI).
We promote a culture of vigilance, openness, and accountability, ensuring that everyone feels safe, heard, and respected. Our safeguarding structures are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect evolving best practices and to ensure we remain a trusted and responsible organisation.
